Randy is admittedly the most organized muse in my head. He's probably more organized than me.
Honestly, part of it is because that's his job. As part of the Records and Identification Division, he has to go down and find files, move boxes, and what have you, so he'd better be organized or he's in trouble. The other part of it is because he's just calm. He has a way of being able to keep everything straight in his head, no matter what happens (unless something really crazy happens). So by nature, he's just a guy who keeps his house in order.
That sense of even keel spreads into the rest of his life. He's really proud of himself because he finally got the Parker Center basement painted. But if you go down there you'll see everything neatly boxed and shelved. And the boxes would have lists of what was in them. And Randy knows everything and where it belongs. He really sort of enjoys that about his job. There's a reason that he says he does most of his shopping at The Container Store -- organization comes easy to him, and to him? It's kind of fun.
I think it's a simple thing he can do to make everything a bit calmer and easier in his life. He can't solve problems but he can keep the house, the office, the desk in order. He has an organization for the chaos. And it works very well for him.
