... wait a sec, where is home? Lol, I've been asked a few times now if I'm going to up sticks and just move in with Mark, very funny people, but I shall be in the car again on a luverly journey home to Selby and my hounds (maybe even Bumble at some point), my darling lappy and some sleep past 8am without that cursed pneumatic drill pounding away outside the window.
Yes, S. Road is being attacked by workmen with big yellow diggers, drills and lots of lurid yellow vests and helmets, this means that this beautiful morning is shattered with loud noises and there are large silver wire fences up all over the place meaning that Mark had to do a 6 point turn just to get into his own driveway last night.
On the plus side, I've been having great fun these last few weeks. Got here on Friday, relaxed with red wine; a 2005 Syrah-Grenache from Chateau Camplazens, then met some people at the Green Man. Saturday was Mark and Andy's birthday snenanigans in Leam, another outing for the pouffy black skater skirt YAY! Skipped Church on Sunday, not a chance were we all going to get up before midday and then chilled quite happily for the rest of the day.
Monday to Thursday were fairly uneventful, Mark's getting on well at his new job, possibly in line for a pay rise as his boss is extremely happy with him. Friday went bowling, warning; vodka does not mix very well with candyfloss, it quadruples the effects or rather gives you a serious sugar high, had great fun though. Saturday was Mark's birthday, watched Six Nations with Mark (fell asleep mainly, I finally got warm), then went out to the Bilash restaurant around the corner for Indian with the family, very good, had popadoms with mango chutney, onion bhajis and lamb korma and Denise and I were given a pink rose each which incidently died the day after.
Sunday = ROAD TRIP, went to Gloucestershire by accident, we were going to find an out-of-the-way pub, ended up trying to get to the top of a hill and failed then went to Cov. station to pick Danielle up before stopping for a drink in the Virgins and Castle, we rejected the food as too expensive so chomped on crisps and Mark and I got Chinese take-out and watched Dukes of Hazzard.
Monday and Tuesday uneventful again but last night was fun. It being Shrove Tuesday, Denise had made some pancake batter so I had the fun of joining Mark in making Pancakes, he'd decided it was high time for opening another of my wines (Supermarkets have proved quite useful, I how have a little collection of 5 wines in Mark's cellar, he also has finally found Miller, his favourite ale), so we had a cheapie Valpolicella, which was actually extremely nice, with the sausage casserole his mum had made before tackling pancakes. I haven't really done frying pan pancakes so that was interesting although my last attempt was perfect. However, we then found out that there was a plan to go bowling, so I have to down the last of my wine before the cars leave and off we went. I now have a lovely burst blister on my thumb, it hadn't quite recovered from Friday and blistered then burst twice but I still had lots of fun despite that; Mark and Ben wondering how I managed to get a strike every first shot of the new game lol.
All in all I have been having a whale of a time, also taking time to do some reading and I'm still checking my email every day for updates from UCAS so onwards and upwards. A quite week or two at home come Friday and then I have no idea.
