I used to have a maid (yeah, yeah laugh! LOL). I did watch her, on occasion, since she seemed to get everything done in 1/10000000th the time it took /me/ to do the same things ( Read more... )

Ah!! I love your icon! I had one similar to it, with my heart bracelet coming out of the box, but think I deleted it. :)

Having said /that/, I feel your wooden blinds are porous. They CAN be ruined by water, but only if you leave them in it too long, or expose them to too much water (or do it too frequently). Is the wood treated? That makes a difference. When I lived next door to this condo, I had wooden blinds, too. I LOVED them. They're harder to unhinge, but mine were treated AND painted. Twice a year, I'd get the hand phillip's head screwdriver, take them down, and smack them in the tub! LOL. I'd stay with them, though, washing them down with a soft detergent, and THEN drying them with a towel. Nothing bad /ever/ happened to those (and I lived there five years). So...just as I've cleaned ENDLESS items made out of wood with "water-based solvents", I've never had problems with the wood's integrity. I hope this helps. If you feel your wood might be saturated quickly, I'd put a base coat of laquer on them, just to protect it.

The cart is a great idea! My condo, however, just doesn't have room for it. If I was still in my house (that my Y*%(#@&%(*# ex husband took), I'd definitely get that cart. But still, it slows me down to "drag/pull" stuff with me when I'm doing little things to clean up. I much prefer "wearing" my cleaners. LOL. Just faster. Pop 'em in, and out, and you wear them like you would an infant :D Hahaha.

But seriously, since you feel the wood blinds have already been compromised, you do have options: You could treat and paint them, for one. But I feel it wouldn't hurt to use a gentle cleanser on them in the tub, as long as you dry them after (use a blow dryer and a towel).

I hope this helps ya.
