Ok, no fair! The scale's against me! :-(

Please bear with me for a minute while I whine and have a small rant...

So, I'm finally restarting my diet - being the New Year and all (and less than 3 months until the Vancouver convention!).  Therefore, this morning I decided to weigh myself to see just where I was at.  I knew I'd probably gained back a few of the pounds I lost last Spring, and ( Read more... )

Awwww... that's sucked! yeah, I don't understand either why the scale in my bathroom, in the gym & the doctor office always shows a different weigh :(

That happened to me when the scale at the Health Club went wonky and they fixed it. It is a medical scale that I thought was foolproof. After they fixed it, I still thought it was off. I asked several women (who were minding their own business)to weigh themselves, so I could figure out how much it might be off. The consensus was 4 pounds.

Today, I decided to check a friend's scale to see if I was deluding myself. His scale seems to confirm my calculations. :-P

I have finally decided to just accept the fact that I am who I am...and if I be a bit overwieght but otherwise healthy...so be it. Jen...I never thought your were overweight. But...I know how we see ourselves. I never set any goals this new year with weight loss cause I just can't stick to them.

Good luck to you in your endeavors.

I understand the concept of what you're saying, but my doc has told me that my cholesterol is borderline too high, plus I have quite a collection of illnesses possibly coming down the line from my parents, so my desire to lose weight is for my health as well as my vanity. ;-) So, thanks for the encouragement - I appreciate it!

I told my parents that I don't like their scales... it adds 4 pounds (compared to my scales) that I really don't want or need.

Anyway, at least half way back (even if some of it is just the scale being out of calibration) isn't all the way back. And since you've lost that weight before, you know you can do it again. Right?! Right. [ insert cheerleader smilie here ]
