It turns out that the new drugs the doctor put me on for my ulcer didn't go well. According to the pharmacist the drug "coats" the stomach lining and allows the ulcer to heal. What it also does, is prevent the absorption of some drugs. In my case it pretty much blocked all my drugs from getting into my body -- including my much needed pain meds ( Read more... )

I'm not sure why, but I am finally feeling better. I have a dull headache, but I haven't needed any Oxycodone for over 15 hours! :) If I can I go 24 hours, I think all this will be pretty much over. I spent most of the weekend drugged out and sleeping. I ended up taking 10mg of the Oxycodone every 6 hours on Saturday and Sunday. I'm going to try backing off to 7.5mg every 8 hours and see how that goes. I AM feeling better. My hope is to be off the Oxycodone and back on my regular pain killers by Tuesday afternoon -- we'll see how things go ( Read more... )

Pain is still going full force. Yesterday I talked to my doctor and he increased my Oxycodone from 5mg to 7.5mg and doubled the number of pills. 5mg is not enough, and 10mg makes me so high I can't think or function. So doc wants me to try 7.5mg every 8 hours and adjust as needed. I can go as high as 15mg/8 hours, but I don't think I'll need ( Read more... )

Monday I was feeling sore and rather blah. Tuesday morning I woke up feeling bad and after I took my morning pain drugs, there was little change. Pain levels kept rising, and by 11am it felt like all my muscles and joints were on fire. I'm not sure of the cause -- maybe leftover Tramadol-ER side effects ( Read more... )

As I mentioned previously, the Pain Clinic recommended that I try a new "time released" version of the pain drug I am already on -- Tramadol, or in my case Ultracet (Tramadol+Tylenol). Saw my doctor Wednesday. He's uped my Neurontin from 800mg to 900mg, since the slightly higher dose seemed to be more effective. He's also going to test me for something called Candida -- basically a body systems wide yeast infection. It's possible some of my symptoms are related to it and he's going to consult an infections disease specialist ( Read more... )

The higher levels of Neurontin is DEFINATELY working. I haven't felt this good in a long time! I actually slept 8 FULL hours last night! 8 FULL hours! :) I haven't done that in -- well I can't recall when! For the past 3 weeks my pain levels have been VERY high. Before, my typical constant pain level was around 2-3 (out of 10). For the past few weeks my ongoing levels have gone up to 5-6, this is even with my pills. Before my pills, my levels are often 7-9. It’s becoming very overwhelming ( Read more... )
