I honestly didn't think I'd be missed all that much.  I'm very glad to be back, and I look forward to the honest exchange of ideas that I always receive here ( Read more... )

Yes, people do actually measure that. Please never let me become that person...

I find my clothes the same way you do... whenever I see something I like that I can afford, I get it. I mix and match everything, and hardly ever do I throw anything away. I adore dresses, but they have to be something special. I don't do just any old dress, or shirt, or shoes... you get the picture. It has to be something with incredible details, and make me feel like myself, rather than someone I've been told to be. Tonight, I was at a Christmas party/dinner for work. We did our secret santa, ate some really good food for free, and enjoyed ourselves. Evidently, however, with the alcohol flowing freely, some people felt more at ease letting me know that I need more colour on my cheeks, and less colour on my eyes and lips. I spent about thirty or so minutes at the grocery store finding makeup for work. I feel horrid. I need the money, so I suppose I can play dress up for work. I'll just pretend that every day is Halloween, and be mundane.

I have to be up in six hours to start all over again.

If i told you what i had to wear to work you would shed a small tear for me. I tend to were my cross bone socks and sometimes find black/white striped socks, but other than that and my cross bone gloves, I am a frekn lemming. my BBBoss commented on my striped socks and mentioned them being from the wizard of oz, he was picking on me and i didn't really mind, he's a rather shy boss so him coming over to pick on me actually was kind of sweet.

I find christmas the worst time of year, for one no one has a clue what to buy for you and they think by getting you something with colour in it, its because they care. lol my grandma bought me pink slippers one year... dude no i'm not found of christmas....

i'm rather picky on what i buy for clothing, i like cool words and sayings, the design isn't as important as the statement. I have one shirt that says "silence is golden, but duct tape is silver" and has a picture of a smilely head with duct tape of the mouth. I have another that says 'will work for anime" and the letters look like masking tape. my favorite is "you have beautiful eyes. can i touch them"... yes for me its all about the statement. ^_^

I probably would shed a small tear for you, but I'd hope you'd do the same for me. ;) I need new clothes, but I need things I can wear to work, so I've been digging out the velvets, velours and silks that we sell at my store to put into my rotation. This way, no one can question my wardrobe, as it's at least partly from the store, but I can mix and match it in accordance to my personal style and preference. I'm a little nervous about spring and summer, because the fabrics and styles I drown myself in are heavy, moody, and what most people think of as autumn and winter fare. You will never see me in shorts, or in pastel colours... you will hardly ever see me in jeans, and never for work, of course. I treat jeans the way most people treat sweatpants. They're good if I've been painting or working in the house and need to run for fast food or groceries. People get too uptight, in my oh so humble opinion, about rules in clothing. A lady was asking me tonight about whether a specific sweater was only for the holidays, or if it could be used year-round. I thought it could be used year-round, as it doesn't have anything holiday specific on it, such as a Christmas tree or snowmen, but another saleslady remarked that it really was more of a special occasion piece, to be used only in this season. What's the point of purchasing something you like if you can only wear it a few times a year? I suppose I shall never be the fashion maven or the couture expert, but I also suppose I shall sleep just fine even with that knowledge. Have a good night, and I mean to return more frequently than I have, and I'll have something new to share. Blessings and peace to you and yours, and I look forward to chatting with you soon.
