National Park & Desolace.

K, so I've moved on again. My travels took me from Rotorua on a rainy Thursday morning with the 'naked bus' to Hamilton on an equally rainy Thursday afternoon. There I spent 2 nights. Why? I'm not really sure as I done pretty much nothing. I stayed in the crappiest hostel so far - a little place called Eagle's Nest - with 2 elderly hosts who plonked themselves in front of the tv all day watching coronation street and the like. My room stank of musty crappness and I had the rudest, stinkiest roommates also. Good times.

This afternoon I arrived in National Park Village, which compared to a British village is like the size of Box Hill. Already I have made friends with a jack russel (who had the longest nose I have ever seen on a dog) and a cat who followed me for a few minutes before it got bored.

I've just eaten some cereal, milk included, which I am pretty proud of as I hate milk with quite a passion - so a feat indeed. And now... I have no idea what I'm gonna do for the next 3 days!?! There's nothing here! 'Cept a climbing wall, which is in my hostel and the view of mount Ruapehu or Tongariro or whatever, like I can tell the diff! There is a walk, which I may force myself to do tomorrow but other than that, I'm pretty stumped. I was considering doing 'the crossing' across Tongariro National Park but I'm on my lonesome now, and it'll be hard to find 3 other people who wanna tag along. Hmm. Oh well, come Tuesday I'll be a volunteer (I hope) and that should keep me occupied for at least a week. Once I'm finished up at Blue Duck I am making myself find a job, must, must, must. I think I'd like to work in Queenstown, yes I think I will do just that.

Until next time (which could be a while if BDL has no internet or not if I find myself disliking it that much, maybe I'll even be in Queenstown 'next time')
