This is long over due Shannyn...I'm terribly Sorry...well without further ado...
Driving to Laredo's, I was expecting a fun show that featured Fishbowl, Saturn, and the Shade Pilots. I was expecting to see the regulars (Toad, Adam, Jack, Andy Scollins, PBuck, Hunter, Jac, Nick, Webber and Justin) there. However, my friend Justin was on a first date with a girl...this girl was Shannyn Baker.
At first she seemed kind of quiet and reserved. I took her to be kind of a meek and shy freshman. (Of course it probably didn't help that after the show we went back to Jac's house and read erotic stories) But she was pretty cute and had a nice smile so I hoped that things worked out for the better of it.
After reading erotic stories at Jac's we all went to Handlebar Harry's...and that is where the true Shannyn Baker emerged. I don't remember quite how it happened, but our group was split up into two tables and I ended up at a table with Justin and Shannyn. I recall that the once meek and timid freshman was now replaced with a sugar craving maniac. I think after all was said and done, she'd cleared out nearly 3/4 of the sugar packets at our table. It was an interesting evening filled with much laughter and fun.
To sum up Shannyn, I think she is a great person. She has her own style and goes about things her own way. She is also very deeply passionate and intelligent. She has family issues, but I think she's smart enough so that she can break the cycle. She has a level head on her shoulders and tends to make good decisions
During that summer when Justin and Shannyn were at their high point, Shannyn and I became pretty good friends. We shared a lot of activities and interests such as band and drama club. She had pretty cool friends as well (I had a huge crush on her friend Erin for an early part of my junior year...but that never amounted to anything) Shannyn, Justin and I would hang out with various people back in the day's of the blue Honda civic. Many fun adventures were had.
However, when Justin and Shannyn's relationship faded...so did our friendship. I still talked with her in school and what not. But we never chilled outside of school. Eventually we just faded out.
The last time I saw Shannyn was at Courtney's at the Mutant Weasels/Public Mullet/Mutant Weasels/Lovedusters extravaganza thing. We exchanged pleasantries...but our friendship is not what it once was. We have most definitely grown apart. I still like Shannyn very much...don't get me wrong... but I'm not sure if our friendship can be what it once was. Our tastes are generally quite different.
If our friendship continues to drift, which I think is inevitable, then know this...I'm glad I met you Shannyn Baker. I know you will be successful in whatever you choose to do.
