So… I probably should have posted this yesterday, but it slipped my mind. Today I had impromptu gallbladder surgery. The doctor wouldn't let me keep the gallbladder or the stones after they removed it, though. :( Apparently they freeze and dissect them after surgery. Booo.
They did take pictures, though. I'll probably post them later. The doctor said I had more than a dozen gallstones, which explains why I felt like I was dying.
The surgery is an outpatient procedure, so after nomming on some ice chips (OMLG my mouth is always so dry after surgery) and answering some questions, the awesome nurse sent me on my way with a cherry popsicle. Mom and dad dropped me off at the house while they went to the grocery store and Chris helped me inside. I showed him the pictures and apparently sang a little song before lying down.
Later my aunt Jill came over to see me and gave everyone their souvenirs from Germany - only two months late. Dad got a yodeling coffee cup (LOL), Chris got a shot glass (which is funny since he doesn't drink), and mom and I got hand made necklaces - mine is a heart! Jill then told us about her husband, Biz, going to physical therapy for a pinched nerve caused by a degenerative disc. Hopefully this will work, because the location prevents laproscopic surgery and a more invasive surgery is dangerous because of his COPD. I'm keeping him in my thoughts. There was some good news, though; Biz's daughter, Aimee, started college recently. I'm glad the art lessons I gave her were able to help.
The rest of the night was pretty much spent resting, watching TV, and not making important decisions. Right now I'm lying back, typing this on my iPhone. Pretty sure I'll be visiting sleepy town soon enough.
