I think that I may actually be able to survive the final two weeks of school!
NEXT WEEK, I only have two things to do: a Roman History essay (6-8 pages?) due on Tuesday and my English "Fantastic" journal (8 entries x 500 words each) due on Thursday - but I still need to like, read everything for that one! (Alien and Alien Resurrection movies count, luckily!).
2 WEEKS from now, I have my Roman History debate; I'm on the team that's debating that Augustus was a success - obviously, because he established himself as emperor, duh! That's on Tuesday. My Mycology term paper on lichens (10 pages, including 2 pages of diagrams/pictures/tables) is due the last day of class; we think that's Tuesday as well. Then my "Fantastic" term paper is due that Thursday and it's worth 50%! *ahh!*

I am getting really annoyed with parents having beef with the stuff we do in Sparks.

#1: I ran into a parent and her daughter in the grocery store. I said that we're planting seeds in little flower pots this week. Then the mother made some passive-aggressive comment that it's a little too early for spring or something. Excuse me? Okay, Wednesday (our meeting) was the first day of Spring AND you can get them to sprout indoors and transplant them outside!

#2: The flower pots, obviously, have a little drainage thingy at the bottom. Some girls' pots we put in a styrofoam cup but we ran out and a couple of girls' pots were put on a plastic plate. When the girls got picked up, one mother was like "oh thanks, you expect me to balance this as I drive home, eh?" Kinda jokingly, but definitely passive-aggressively again. Do you ride a bicycle or something? Why could it not be placed on a seat or on the floor? It's not going to topple over - unless you drive like a mad woman and swerve around corners.

... it's like STFU! I'm a volunteer. Think of it as cheap babysitting FFS! Do you think that I couldn't use my time more effectively? - because I can! I certainly don't see those mothers stepping up and offering ideas. AND your kids LOVE me and the stuff I think up to do at meetings and that's all that matters. I suppose this will be an aspect I get to look forward to in teaching too, eh? *L*

I totally need to do SO MUCH before moving to St. Catharines! A car being a huge aspect. Getting some sort of credit is another: a credit card, my own cell phone account... but it's definitely exciting!
