You always said they were like fire and ice, melting and cooling each other, creating a perfect equilibrium in not-so-perfect lives.
You were so very wrong.
Sasuke wasn't just ice, Naruto not just fire. Nothing was that simple for them, them being the people -part demons- they were. Nah, Sasuke and Naruto were more like a not-so-subtle twisting turning scratching searing mix of flame and flame, floe and floe.
They were everything and nothing all at once.
Both were caught up in the pleasurable, excruciating red-hot swirling heat of rage, the chilling blue of painful loss.
Sometimes when I see them I wonder why -how - they are still alive; I wonder how it's possible that all that hate and love hasn't torn them apart yet, how come they're still standing there in purgatory trading petty insults and hidden smiles, taunting glares and painful caresses. its not-so-familiar, not-so-easy.
Sasuke and Naruto embrace their oxymoronic redundancies the same way they wear their hearts on their sleeves and their souls in their eyes.
They were two galaxies slowly shattering and imploding into the black hole of their love and it'll kill them if they get too close but they can't break-apart-they're-tooclosetoohottoocoldtoo
much.
They were fire and fire, ice and ice.
Except, is it really all-that-simple?

They're all alone, lost forever, and that's what will always bring them together...
