The Prophecies of Amzamiviram
On Monday I went in to tell Louis about my Liberal Arts award thing, and he already knew! He said he had known for weeks but that he wasn't allowed to tell me. He also informed me that I'm the first person ever from the Department of Music and Dance to receive this award, which is neat. Tragically, he's going to be gone (I assume to England and I assume for research) by the time the reception-thing rolls around, and after apologizing profusely, said he'd take me to dinner instead. Yay! And at least I had a back-up 'most influential professor.' Today in my lesson I told Christy about the award and she's extremely excited as well. Fortunately, she actually is able to come to the reception. She is a good choice also. Actually I've known her longer than Louis and have always interacted with her on a more regular basis. So this is really good.
Also. I got an email from Duke today. I've been wait-listed. Some nice things: fuck Duke, I got into UT; I still might get offered a position and they will likely give me money; the email they send was actually nice and personable and not horrible like the one from UCLA; they are actually keeping me in the loop. Nonetheless, UT > Duke. For me and my program and my interests, anyway. Also Christy has started calling me cowgirl. Heh.
