So, my sickness of this past week peaked on Thursday, I felt so ill early that morning, trying to sleep or rest while feeling feverish and overtired. I got up early, moved slow, and went to work at a normal time.
I called off my Thursday evening racquetball game, and apologized for missing the game the week earlier, I have fallen asleep after work - I think that's the day I started getting sick. Slept early again Thursday night. Was a bit improved Friday morning, still sick though, felt a bit better through the day, and managed to be okay for going to my dance class Friday evening, though I really wanted to sleep again after dinner. A friend wanted to go to Grog and Tankard to see a metal band with a drummer he knows, but I didn't have the interest or energy for that one.
Saturday morning, got up for a day of ultimate frisbee tournament. Our first game was at 9:30am, we had only 1 sub, so I played most of the game for 3 games straight. We lost the first but beat the HB Woodlawn middle/high school - they have no home sport, so field a team in clique league to have a sport. The coach and principal played in the second half, so it was rather competitive. We blew out the third team, 12-1, that was quick also. It was close to 2:30pm by then, it was drizzling, we went to the Hawk and Dove on Capitol Hill for lunch. The turkey burger rather sucked, but I guess the price could have been worse, given the location.
Some called-in recruits came and gave us a few subs for the fourth game, which started at 4:30pm, and I sat out most of it. We lost, so 2-2 on the day, I don't think we'll be playing in the next round.
My feet hurt from wearing cleats all day, they don't have enough padding, and the field was hard, so the soles of my feet have some bruises over the cleat points.
Got home around 7pm, and showered, ate, layed down with my book and ached, then quickly fell asleep, woke up in the middle of the night to turn off lights and go to bed.
This morning, got up early to get ready for the Sallie Mae 10K. A handful of my classmates were running it, and the student govt picked up the entry fees for us, and got us MSB wicking tee-shirts. I struggled, was a lot slower than a month ago, and would have really dropped off if I wasn't running with a friend. Anyhow, I finished the 6.2 miles in about 59 mins.
We went to IHOP afterwords, I was amazed that I couldn't finish more than half the olmette I ordered.
Got back home before noon, showered and took a nap. Got up around 3pm to get ready for Dragon Boat practice. The boat was put together by Exec MBA students, so I didn't know anyone, I just responded to the call for more bodies. It's fun, I can't believe how much my arm and shoulder aches just holding a light paddle up in proper position. That was 4:30- 5:45, then went over to my parent's for dinner.
Long weekend, did nother to prepare for my Marketing final on Wednesday. That will be a lot of work Monday and Tuesday evenings.
