I really appreciate having this window into the writing process. I always like learning about How Things Are Made, especially things I can't imagine creating myself.
So, this is really cool.
Yay wordcount! Yay transition and exposition! Tension tension tension f*ck!
You do know that's a good thing, right? I mean, this time you KNOW you are writing something that WILL be published, not something you hope someone might-maybe be interested in (aside from your private group of adoring fans). You're getting paid to do something you love, something you've always wanted to be able to get paid to do. Not that the money is important, but that you're writing from a position of pre-validation. People Who Make Professional Decisions about such things have deemed you worthy. Or something like that. ;)
Lord, I remember when I told myself I was just writing non-linearly and found that I'd written all the dramatic scenes with none of the transitions, boy was that a costly mistake. If only I'd had you around to tell me why the transitions seemed too slow then. Hurrah for chapter one in all its glorious transitiony-ness, I am sure it will be A plus.
Also, I applaud enthusiastically for you reaching your goals!
My true goal is to make ALL bits The Cool Bits...I wonder if that would actually work? Like, stuff exploding every time someone needs to walk across a room?
