Writing What's On My Mind

The more I learn about Alan Turing, the more I loathe and despair of homophobia. Never mind that he was an innocent man tortured to the point of committing suicide by a state who ostensibly proclaimed its dedication to freedoms: he was one of those rare geniuses that could have changed everything if he had lived just a little bit longer.

Stupid militant homophobics and their "cures."

On a far less angry note, I've come up with a new writer's exercise. Well, new for me...I guess there's a good chance someone else has already come up with it. Anyhow, take a really cliched phrase - like, "immortal beloved" - then come up with an image to describe it. Mine, in this example; is a great ivory tower with hard lines and a sharp spike on the top, completely surrounded by beautiful, soft rose vines without thorns but filled with perfume.

I've come up with a few more...but I really need to work on unpacking!

Peace Out.
