Crippled Git

So, I'm back in Shaker, with the cats, feeling slightly annoyed and very useless.

I came back yesterday after the heat and the pain got too much for me to tolerate. I hadn't slept the night before (combination of pain and thunderstorm), but I had at least hoped to get more packing done.

Nope.

Ended up leaving, with a carload of stuff (mostly delicate stuff that wouldn't bear a truck ride well), and a pair of 5-hour energy shots. I'm pretty sure I was actually dozing with my eyes open by the time I got to Cleveland (I was close to tunnel vision the rest of the trip), but I managed to get home without incident and crawl into bed. Then I snapped something in my shoulder - causing a sharp stabbing pain whereas before it had been a dull stabbing pain - and gave up on the [camp] bed to curl up on the couch.

Apparently that was the right move. My shoulder's useable today...and while I can't really feel the back spasms, my only real trouble right now is getting my legs to work well enough to walk.

Sadly, I count that as a win.

The cats are glad to have me, though getting all of the stuff in order before the rest of the stuff gets here would probably be a lot quicker without their help. For that matter, life would go a lot quicker if I could use my body how I want to when I want to...but you really can't have everything.

Right now I'm working on everything that doesn't involve lifting, carrying, or walking too far. Essentially I"m just as useless here as I was there: but here there's no one else to watch working their tootsies off, so it's easier to pretend I'm a productive person and not a cripple leech.

It's the little things.

Peace Out.
