Dream time! Gather around children!

Last night, I dreamed I was in a great hall with grand, marble and gold staircases and no rooms except for the one at the top of all the staircases where the ballots were cast.

It was some sort of caucus or convention on Election Night. I was making signs for my campaign on a landing when the news came in.
We lost.

Is this the pattern of my life

Last night, I dreamed of a new, old Edwardian gay love story that was not of the E.M. Forster ilk, and yet it was.

I was the house servant version of  Alec Scudder to Rembrandt's would-be sacrificed Isaac's version of Maurice Hall. It was entirely fulfilling.

And yet I was left feeling vulnerable the whole day by it.
