Amanda Palmer met Philip Glass and Nick Cave while on honeymoon with Neil Gaiman. I have pretty much no words. Apparently Australia is an awesomeness-magnet this week. And her cover of The Ship Song is pretty, although it did make me mostly crave the original.

Teaser poster and slightly pointless article with very pretty pictures from the X-Men prequel, First Class. They had me at period superheroes (it's only the 60s, and it doesn't look like exactly costume-drama-60s, but still, there's really not enough period superheroes - I'm hoping the first half hour of Captain America will be awesome in this respect too), with Young!Xavier and Young!Magneto - James Macavoy and Michael Fassbender respectively. Heeeee.

The Westboro Baptist Church (*spits*) are not keen on Red State, Kevin Smith's new Christian-cult-based horror movie. I CAN'T THINK WHY. Aside from the fact that they're not keen on anything, ever. But here is Smith's invite to the counter-picket, which is kind of awesome.

I haven't played FFXIII, and people keep telling me it wasn't that good (although it seems likely I will eventually play and like it because a similar set of people - eg, The Internet - often tells me 10, 10-2 and 12 were no good and I pretty much loved all of them so ptthhhhhpp) but I am impressed by the fact that the just-announced-this-week FFXIII-2 has a trailer already.

... also it didn't occur to me until I'd watched it that it is presumably spoilery for the end of FFXIII. But only in a 'these people survive and they probably defeated a thing' way, which y'know, is fairly predictable but might be more spoilery if you had the context.
