(no subject)
You know what? I'm really enjoying Heroes. I've just finished series 2, and I enjoyed it. It's not even that I don't think the complaints are justified - it's just that the good bits really won me over, especially in the last few episodes.
My personal 'the good bits':
- Monica and Micah. Just... generally.
- Maya getting shot. Hooray for Sylar. I'm hoping that having been dead for a couple of minutes will give her a bit of perspective on life. You can control your power now you silly woman, stop latching on to people like a teary-eyed limpet and pull yourself together.
- Hiro, Ando, Kaito, did I mention Hiro? Even his angst is adorable. I hope Ando gets a bit more to do next series.
- Any point where Mohinder had screen time with either Matt or Sylar. Yes, I ship both... I regret nothing. That last episode, with Mohinder and Sylar and he's pretending to be all nice and then Mohinder has to take some of his blood and just oh my god the hot awesome control issues.
- Also I must say that even when Mohinder is wearing the stupid nose thing and behaving like a complete and utter idiot, Sendhil Ramamurthy is still incredibly pretty to look at.
- Nikki's other other self, that was rather awesome, I actually really like that she's still kinda working on seperating the powers from the apparently inherent mental illness. I'd like to see more of that. On the other hand the number of people who have survived being clearly dead in the last couple of episodes is getting dangerously high. On the other other hand the last person who stayed dead was DL, and that's just not very fair.
- Nathan. Even when all he's doing is moping in bars and hallucinating angstily he's more interesting to watch than Peter's ineffectual superpowered faffing.
- Noah Bennett pwns the world.
- 'MIDAS', ha.
- Adam as Adam - was less impressed with him as Kensei but I actually quite love Adam. In that crazy god complex sort of way. Maybe it's just the suits. Adam looked really cool in his nice black suit going to attempt to kill off most of the human race. Peter looked like he was trying to look all hard and grown up but actually just looked like a wanker. He was much better off in the nurse's uniform and the floppy hair.
There were also plenty of things that I could take or leave or thought were genuinely stupid, and the plotting was definitely shabby compared to season 1, but honestly, they're all things that I can deal with in exchange for these moments.
