... well that's odd. For my next two DVD rentals Lovefilm have decided to send me the last disk of Dexter and the first disk of
Sandokan. I mean, cool, but random. I'd totally forgotten I'd put it on my list.
Pretty much on a whim went to see
Monkey: Journey to the West last night. It was brilliant, and funny, and omg the utterly ridiculous talent of the acrobats/dancers/jugglers/martial artists in the chorus. And the music was very cool too, existing in a very odd place where Chinese opera meets, well, Gorillaz. And you can see a surprising amount from the restricted view seats up at the top of the opera house. The only things we really missed I think were the little bits of plot happening over on the same side of the stage as us. Also the ginormous Buddha in the last scene - I could see his knees if I leaned over the side...
Having complained about not being able to find a fountain pen, I found one (not my favourite kind but at least a sensible shape and price) in Covent Garden, and my mum donated two to me that she wasn't using. So now I have three! Win.
