Grad. school, Insulation, Maine Dates....
Friday I got the e-mail saying that I was accepted into the University of Toledo's grad. school program. I am getting an MS in Biology (Ecology Track) with a focus on environmental microbiology. I already talked to the person I want to do research for, Dr. Sigler, and he'll be my adviser. Hopefully, I will actually start working this summer on my research. I will be working with E.Coli. I have a TA position for $15,000 for my first year.
Also on Friday, I received the newest Sims 2 expansion, Freetime. It seems really neat, but I haven't been able to play much because my computer has been slow and I didn't have much time this weekend. My new scrunchies also came in on Friday- so it was a very good day!
Friday night consisted of a celebration dinner at Chili's- we had a gift card. The appetizer was great, but the meal was once again disappointing.
Saturday, Jimmy and I spent the entire day putting insulation in the attic. We finally finished at 11:00 - and we ate dinner then. I am SO SO sore.....my whole body hurts, particularly my arms. Needless to say, I did NOT work out yesterday.
Today, I took my health measurements....I gained two pounds....but my fat percentage went down (which is more important, cause that means I am gaining muscle!), my blood pressure was 120/72....my top number was higher than last week, but still under the ideal 120. My bottom number went down a few points....so I take that as very good. My pulse also went down. So, overall I think it was good week.
This evening I posted the dates for the Summer 2008 Maine Trip. We seem to have a lot of interested folks this time around. Sign-ups start late April.
