(no subject)
So, Threadless.com is holding a cake decorating contest and I want to make an entry, mostly because I haven't decorated for ages and I would enjoy the simple fact of doing it. I can't decide which shirt I should fashion a cake after, though. Here are a few I'm leaning toward with some notes. Suggestions or opinions are welcome.
We Were Tomatoes
Would make this a three-tier cake with the tomatoes running for their liiiiiives! Must have some squished ones near the bottle.
Baby Godzilla
This would be so damn fun to make. I'd have some other carnage spilling over the side: cars, bikes, houses, a street broken over the side, etc.
Nosferatu
This would be a 2-D sheet cake (there are two categories, 3-D and 2-D). Would ice the cake in fondant, get some paintable blue coloring for the background, then would color another layer of fondant in black and cut out silhouettes and lay it over. The skill would be all in the painting.
Revenge of the Sushi
This would be difficult. I'd have to work with cupcakes (or stamped-out rounds) so this didn't get too heavy. Lots of dowels, would use black fondant as the seaweed wrap and frosting as the rice so it looks soft. Would make the knife out of cardboard or cardstock so it stays light. Will still have to counter-anchor with some fishing line, probably.
