air conditioned campers

We were driving somewhere, Mr Moth and I, and we saw a camper sitting in someone's driveway, all set up. He said, "I don't understand why people put air conditioners in campers. If it's too hot to camp, stay home. And if you don't have a/c at home, sell your camper and get air conditioning at home."

I don't really get the allure of camping in the driveway, either. Unless it's relatives and you're making sure they don't move in while you're not paying attention. But maybe that's just me...
