My favorite new read of the year was Before, After, and Somebody in Between,  and I don't think it was because I'm biased, either.    I really liked Songs in Ordinary Time, Plain Truth, and Travelling Light.  Also, Miss Julia ruled!

Tentative TBR for 2008  (aiming pretty high here, and yes I have quite a mix going on; I always do):

Territory, by Emma Bull
Dreadful Skin, Wings to the Kingdom, and Not Flesh Nor Feathers, by Cherie Priest
Hammered, by Elizabeth Bear
In Cold Blood, by Truman Capote
Sophie's Choice, William Styron
Levi's Will, by Dale Cramer
No Country for Old Men, by Cormac McCarthy
Lost in the Forest, by Sue Miller
Walden, by Henry David Thoreau
Something by Leon Uris  (Haj and Exodus have both been recommended.)
