More Ich-ness With toe

Yeah.  So today I woke up to go into work an hour early, because of a doctor's appointment for the "lucky fin".  Could not wear my work shoes.  I called Kim (assistant manager) because I didn't know what to do.  She said to feel free to wear my house shoes (which is basically what I wore all weekend, because it didn't put pressure on my toe) because then at least they'll have a decorator.  Yeah.  Because that's what's most important.  I found that my old Crocs work fine, with the heel strap kicked forward and if I put no weight on my toe.  So I was limpy McGee all day today, and irritated that I went in at all, and the limping was causing pain in my ankle, knee and lower back.

Pic of offending toe behind cut.  If you're squeamish, don't look.

Onychia and paronychia of toe.  That's what the nurse practitioner called it.  Basically, it's a little "meat flap" that has been pushed out from in between the side of the nail and the nail.  It's like the pressure has pushed out the flesh.  Oh look, you can  see my freckle on the top of my foot!  I walked on this painful SOB all day today at work.  *pouts*  I really wanted to get a pedicure this weekend, too.

So anyway.  I was referred to a podiatrist.  They initially wanted me in on Monday, then I explained the situation a little more and they had an opening on Friday morning.  So I called work and Jey said that I could come in super early on Friday and work half a day then go to the appointment.  Yeah I'm feeling the love.  Then my doctor must have called the podiatrist and explained the situation further because they called me back and want to see me tomorrow morning.  So  I'm going in early tomorrow to work, I'll limp all morning at that shit hole place that's more concerned about production than the level of pain their workers are in, and we'll see what happens at the podiatrist tomorrow.  I'm hoping I don't lose the nail.

I'm angry.  But I have vicodin.  And Epsom salts to draw out the toxins.

bad times, work
