When you realize that life isn't all that bad.

I was walking home from work the other day and popped into Whole Foods for some insta-sushi as I had a craving for it. Sitting outside in the slightly-muggy sunshiny day I took a moment to be thankful and - more importantly - laugh at myself. Here I am in etsy-bought yoga gear eating brown-rice sushi with pomegranate green tea outside of an overpriced 'health food' store with my Kindle in hand and a new e-book queued up.
Seriously, for all that I whinge and whine about things life isn't so bad. Yeah, I have little irksome things that appear and disappear with regularity but really, life isn't so bad. I really do need to keep that in mind when I am being mopey and missing so many friends that are now scattered across the world. But that's what happens when you broaden your horizons - and you're not the only one. Everyone else that you meet is on their own personal journey which you can then be happy that you got to be a part of, even if for only a brief moment. Because that's life.
So what I really need to do is take a deep breath and focus on the moment. I am here, this is where I am meant to be, and enjoy it rather than wishing I was half a continent away with someone else doing something else.
This was my decision, my journey, and I need to embrace it.
