I never knew it was true...
So you know in Questionable Content, the coffee shop that Dora and Faye work at? I never thought that that was based on truth. I never truly believed that indie hipsters really were into going to coffee shops and getting berated by cute girls, but I found a place in Spokane where this is possible. I was going to see a show there (ended up not), and the ladies at the counter were not only dressed the part, but they had sneers like I have never seen in my whole life. I swear. I don't care how awesome being indie is, I'm not into getting sneered at. Maybe I'm just self-conscious, but that's the way I am.
I just saw Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist, which kind of cured me of my indie rock need, a little bit. I almost wish I was in NYC so that I could have the opportunity to see bands live every night. I just feel like I need to broaden my horizons, especially musically. I wanted to see a lot of Japanese live music while I was over there...unfortunately I only saw like 2 bands. Maybe I should focus on my music for a while...get back into that. It's been so long since I actually wrote anything, words or otherwise.
