This week I’m staying in a very nice little room at St Anne’s College. Good things: wash basin in my room; full English breakfast included; ‘hospitality tray’ (i.e. a kettle and some instant hot drinks); shampoo; teeny balcony; quite a nice stylish room, with a view. Today I have behaved like an Organised Grown-Up Person! I have:

• Turned up pair of trousers #3 of 3 (smart black ones with a cerise pinstripe-hurrah for the Next sale)
• Done two loads of laundry
• Ironed freshly-turned-up trousers, as well as a blouse and some dresses

I hate NetLibrary. It’s rubbish. What idiot decided to design an ebook site where reading sessions time out in about 15 minutes, after which it doesn’t even remember what book you were reading, let alone what page you were on?
