Day 12: The Windy City

Jun 15, 2009 11:34

Another lazy start to a day. I slept in and took my time getting ready. Ruckus made brunch for the two of us, bacon, grits, scrambled eggs, and toast. We made it out the door and he gave me the grand tour of Chicago. We drove through Millennium Park, down the Magnificent Mile, and up to Boystown.

I have learned that I really like the Boystown neighborhood. The people are very friendly and there are a lot of cool shops to visit. Well, not as much as NYC, but it's still fun.

Eventually, we made our way to Giordano's for dinner. This, as I have been told, is the original Chicago style pizza place. I have never quite had pizza like it. It wasn't just deep dish, it wasn't oily like a lot of deep dish can be. It was wonderful.

Afterward, we walked around Boystown for a while, trying to walk off some of the pizza from dinner. Once it got late, we returned home and I passed out. I was exhausted. I am very refreshed this morning and ready to drive to Milwaukee.
