What do you get if you combine Disney magic with gorgeous Rococo? Italian "Beauty and the Beast".
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpM9LhpMFRQ&NR=1 I saw the Italian production in Rome earlier this year, and was blown away by the costumes. In your face, whoever claims historical accuracy cannot be combined with creativity*. Hail costume designer Miguel Angel Huido! And I seriously want Belle's blue dress, it's the prettiest version I've ever seen.
*Not saying these costumes are museum pieces, but look at the silhouettes, the Robe a la Françaises, the Polonaises, the Pet en l'air's, the buckle shoes.... I loved how each of the enchanted servants "item being" had a basis in Rococo garbs as well.
