BACKDRAPES

Working on backdrapes for the new Elissa costume. 5 meters of red/golden Chinese brocade (identical to the pleated hem), 2 meters of a stripy Chinese brocade (used the backside), and 3 meters of a shot red/orange polyester. The basic construction is two long strips of fabric, curved in the bottom and pointed at top, with a triangle inserted between them. This allows for waterfall drapes to happen.

The peplum is basically a big U shape made of the same materials as the backdrapes. The stripes are laid horizontally (based on a Vegas version), but most end up vertically when draped.
