I've started transferring the flower patterns to the sleeves, so my grandmother can start embroidering them.
It's based on the lush Italian camicia presented in "Patterns of Fashion 4", currently in care of The Met museum in the USA. I will make the neckline lower than the original, and I might also give up my idea of silk embroidery, but I will try to stick as close to the original as possible.
The fabric used is a nice 19th century linen sheet, much softer than the camicia I made in May 2008. Now my job is to draw up 10 x 10 flower motifs on each sleeve... I think I'll make a stencil for the outer lines, and fill in the rest on freehand. Unless any of you have better ideas?
