BIRTHDAY, PART 2

Jul 13, 2009 09:40

Due to a wonderful family and lovely friends, I celebrated by birthday on July 4.th. As this is both the American constitution day AND the birthday of the Queen of Norway, we figured it was a grand day to throw a party... he-he.

I don't think I've celebrated my birthday this much since... ever. And it was a lovely, lovely day.

The theme was Greece, as illustrated here by "Rickers in da Snickers" in an authentic Greek dress. Apart from decorations, also the music and the food was Greek-styled. Opa!

Three of the people I studied with in Greece (including my lovely room-mate Kari) came. It was SOOO nice to see them again!

A boat sailed me and some other guests to the idyllic place where the celebration took place

sneprinsesse danced two cool and very different belly-dances

The main hosts: the equally lovely cousin Gro and sister Illagete

What's a Greek party without grapes on the head?

...seriously...

...everybody should wear grapes on their head...

I got so many nice and thoughful presents. Books, wine, oils, creams, teas, concert tickets... So many things I can indulge myself with, which is always a perfect present. Thank you so much to all of you, both for presents, effort in putting this party together, and overall kindness and love. This was a great evening!

(and sorry for the lack of pics other than the few above... I took too few pics myself, and haven't gotten any from the other guests yet)
