“Play with fire and you’ll wind up burned,” Ethan said as he looked up at him through blown eyes and soft lashes.
Rupert saw the words for what they were from the start: a dirty threat of a promise. It was a challenge to overlook the way the guy held himself with his shirt half undone in a pub, elbow resting on the table with a slightly crooked finger held out to beckon him.
It was his one chance to run away from it all.
Rupert shrugged as he said ,“So we’ll burn together. Seems like a fair enough trade, no?”
