It's funny. I've heard of people with OTPs from Willow/Wesley to Buffy/Gunn, but who love love loves Buffy/Riley even though they were the main BTVS pairing for a season and a half?!

Oh oh! I know I'm just one data point, but I really did love Buffy/Riley for a while there - they were probably as close to an OTP as I've found for the show. But then, I'm mostly a non-shipper when it comes to Buffy. And like you, I do like Sam!
