Buffy’s new life is awesome.
With the most powerful witch in the Northern Hemisphere, a brand-spanking-new Watcher’s Council, a legion of slayers, two stand-in Buffsters, and the freedom to do whatever she wants, Buffy should be on Cloud Nine.
And she is, really. Scotland is lovely. She takes long walks, now, and hangs out with her friends and does age-appropriate things without worrying about hitting every cemetery in town before she goes to bed. She sleeps well.
Still, there are days she wakes up, missing the hunt, the kill, the necessity and urgency; their absence is a little like dying.
