So it's not my usual 3 months in between posts! You should be excited. So school is officially under way. Classes are going good - I've got the reading under control and I'm enjoying my teachers greatly. I guess that's good. A couple big things coming up in the near future.
February 9th I take my GRE ... I'm not worried about it and it's the last step for grad school which I'll hear about in April. Not really worried about that either. I have the grades, the recommendations, and the test scores to get in - it's all just formalities at this point.
February 4th and 5th I have an interview with the Housing Department here at UGA for a Graduate Assistantship. More specifically it is the position of a Graduate Resident I'm looking towards. About six months ago I had lunch with one of my former bosses (from when I worked the desk at Reed) who is the Area Coordinator for several of the dorms on campus and he told me that I should apply for a position with the Housing Department. Specifically I could work with the University's television network and plan and organize production workshops and classes and pretty much do everything I do now. If offered the job I would be given a fully furnished apartment in one of the dorms paid for and utilities covered, a parking spot on campus, the meal plan (which I don't know how much I would use but it's nice to have), my tuition would be paid for, and I would also get a monthly stipend. There's a lot of "pluses" to the position. Yeah I'd be called if some drunk person passed out in the lobby but I'd be alright with being woken up in the middle of the night.
Going to see a sneak preview of "Smokin' Aces" tonight at Tate. Looks like it will be entertaining in the least.
I'm probably going home this weekend ... it's my dad's birthday on Friday and if I don't get home this weekend it will be probably at least a month before I'd be able to make it home otherwise.
