Okay, so here I am - trying to start a new year on a good foot. But seeing as how I'm avoiding some reading right now that might not be the best foot. I am officially back in class as of yesterday. 12 hours this semester - the least amount of classes I've taken ever so I can't complain - it should be a good semester.
I only have class on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
9-10: English Grammar
10-11: American Modernism
12-1: Shakespeare
and then only on Monday I have a Special Education class from 5-8pm, but in class yesterday she said we would rarely meet the entire length of the class. She's got an outline and once we're done with it we would be able to leave.
Still working at the Studio, just a little less now, Tuesdays and Thursdays. On even better news ... REM is up for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Yay for them - so that means there will probably be more work in the future for me too. But good for them - now that I've watched pretty much every minute of their career they've been a pretty good band and have some great staying power. I think they deserve it.
Every few Saturday's I'm working with a program called TeenScreen - it takes a bunch of high school kids and gives them the equipment and opportunity to make movies of their own. I only wish I had had a program like that available to me while in high school.
So that's my busy-ish schedule for this semester. It really won't be that bad I think I'm just a little flustered by the fact that my Shakespeare teacher wants us to read a whole play by tomorrow - I'm like it's the first week of class - we're not really supposed to do anything. What happens to the kids who picked up the class sometime today - they have no clue, they're gonna be behind already. It's just a little crazy.
Not really a whole lot else going on - still studying for the GRE. I've taken a few practice tests and I'm not two worried ... just need to brush up on the math formulas a little bit (haven't used those in a while).
The break was good - saw my Aunt and Phil over Thanksgiving and then Christmas was good. Got a little bored around Columbus because most of the people I worked with at the Restaurant the last few summers have moved so I didn't have very many people to hang out with. Spent some time with Susan, Ashly came into town and I met Johanna for coffee one day. But it was nice to be around my parents and my sister and I had some fun.
Richard and I had a good Christmas, a few weeks before we went to see the Fantasy in Lights at Calloway - had hot chocolate - and tried to get him to sing along to the carols but he's a little too shy to sing out loud in front of all those people he didn't know. :)
Spent New Years in Athens with Mary Catherine and her cousin and his friend. Then saw Richard for my new years eve/day kiss. :) I was tired though and probably asleep by 1am.
Nicki had a few laughs at our expense thought. Lets just say champagne ... whooo ... those bubbles!
Alright - so I've got to get a little more work done and then run some errands but I promise to try and update a little more often. I know I say that just about every time I do post but I really do try ... stuff just happens and gets crazy. It'd be easier if I was still working in the middle of the night ... I was just so much more productive then. Well see.
Later kids.
