Loss of Respect
It's amazing how someone can do something one day that finally makes me see them as someone to respect. They'll do something that I think, "Hu, I probably would have had a lot more trouble trying to do that." But one word, one comment and all that respect can come tumbling down and we are back to square one where I can't think of them as anything but lucky for that one time.
That being said...
If you finally end up earning the respect of someone to the point where they tell you something like "good job, I don't think I could have done something like that," don't screw it up by only a few days later cursing at them or telling them that their concerns about something aren't valid. It's just the quickest way to pissing them off again.
