Indeed, George Lucas didn't come up with it. Take the 'coincidence' in Jane Eyre with St.John and his sisters being Jane's cousins (which I mention since it has just finished airing here). Then there's Woman in White with the half-sister link. I'm sure if I sat and thought about it long enough I'd come up with quite a few. I suppose what used to be great drama a hundred to two hundred years ago, is now cliche ( ... )

I think Victor Hugo is possibly the worst culprit - pretty well all of his characters are related to each other by blood or coincidence.

The coincidences in Les Miserables were fun to spot, but the ones in Notre Dame de Paris have me groaning out loud at times!

Ah, aren't politicians wonderful!

At least all of you in Norway speak English well. (Come to think of it, that's as a consequence of the arrogance of the English speaking world.) And German I think? French, our official second language, is barely understood by the majority of the country. Weird when you think how many languages the natives of these isles had to absorb in centuries of invasion!

I can understand that Doctor Who wouldn't mean much without the 26 years of the original series that we had. (Big Ears is Christopher Ecclestone!)
