So I wrote the first draft of my novel last summer. I finished it in late June and decided to give myself a while to "forget" the details and such before trying to revise it into a second draft. It bothers me when an author overuses a certain word or phrase. The first one who really started irritating me was Janet Evanovich in her Stephanie Plum bounty hunter series.
