Merry Christmas!

Well, it's Christmas again! Seems to have creeped up on us this year. It doesn't feel like Christmas since there isn't any snow and we didn't decorate this year (Dominic is spending the holiday with Rob in Virginia and we didn't see the point).

Here is a cute ecard for all of my online friends.

I woke up around 10:30am which is about an hour and a half earlier than I usually wake up on weekends. I think it's because I had a dream (in the Dexter universe) that came to a natural conclusion, which almost never happens. I had a bowl of cottage cheese for breakfast because Dan was playing a video game he rented from RedBox (so it has to go back today) and I didn't want to interrupt him. When he got done playing it turns out he hadn't eaten and I felt bad, because I had kind of been planning on pancakes. So I told him to eat something small and I'd make pancakes for lunch.

I'm trying to talk Dan into watching a few Doctor Who episodes with me today. He's only seen a few of them (though in his words he says we've seen "a bunch."). I'm considering just watching the David Tennant ones because they're better than the Christopher Eccleston ones (which are still really good, mind you!). I just want it to pull him in and I think David Tennant would do that better.

So Dan just ate a bowl of cereal and is playing his video game again (this happened while I have been writing this entry). I guess the rough plan for the day is:
  • Dan plays his video game while I surf the web for a while (couple of hours, probably).
  • I make pancakes--possibly pumpkin pancakes as I have a can of pumpkin pie mix and a few recipe suggestions off the web, and they were a favorite at our favorite breakfast spot in Cleveland--around 2pm, probably.
  • We return RedBox movie from last night and the video game. Possibly get another RedBox movie.
  • We watch several Doctor Who episodes (hopefully--still talking Dan into it).
  • Phone calls to family to wish them Merry Christmas.
  • Dinner, probably Hazelnut Cranberry Roast En Croute (leftovers from yesterday), pumpkin soup (at least for me--Dan isn't as into it as I am--this is also leftovers but we have a LOT), stuffing, and some mixed veggies. Probably around 6 or 7pm.
  • RedBox movie if we got another one, probably started while we're eating dinner.
  • Dunno what after that...
  • Bedtime for Dan kind of early
  • Internet time and then bathtime for me (which involves reading my current book on my Kindle: Snuff, which is the 39th(!!!) book in the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett) and then bedtime for me when the water gets too cold and I can't sqeeze any more hot water out of the tank.
Hopefully the hospital won't call Dan in for anything today. Being on call on holidays is always a bummer. He did get called in yesterday, so maybe he'll be spared today. He's also getting over a cold so hopefully if he does get called in it's earlier in the day so he can still get to bed early.

In contrast to having no plans for Christmas, we're going to a party on New Year's Eve, so at least we'll be sort of social this holiday.
