So yesterday was Dominic's birthday. Hard to believe it, but he's 16 years old now, which is the magical age in Massachusetts for getting a learner's permit for driving. We're going today after he gets out of school to get the permit As part of our present to him we're going up to New Hampshire this weekend to the
New Hampshire Highland Games at Loon Mountain which he'd requested we go to. We'll be going up to the cottage this afternoon and staying there for the weekend with my mom, then going to the games on Sunday, and probably coming straight home after that.
I also got Dominic some video editing software that he can use to put together videos to upload to YouTube. He has a FlipVideo camera and has expressed an interest in making videos for YouTube, so I thought that having editing software was important. I'll help him learn how to use it.
Also yesterday, I went with my friend Cheryl to lunch at a Chinese restaurant that has a gluten-free menu (she's gluten-free) and then we drove to see the suites at three hotels to try to decide which one to have my 40th birthday party at in February. It was a pretty obvious choice once we saw the rooms. One hotel's "suite" was just a larger room, it didn't even have separate rooms. It was way too small with way too little seating for a party. Another was three times as expensive and only two rooms. We decided on the place with a 3 room suite, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, etc. It looked perfect, and was actually the cheapest of the three.
I'm having a hard time waking up today. I slept in until noon (I didn't go to sleep until after 3am though, so that's not really all THAT much extra sleep) and I'm dragging ass pretty badly. I got my bag packed for this weekend, and I have to look up RMV locations for getting Dominic's permit, but other than that I don't have a lot to get done... but I have less than an hour until I have to go pick up Dominic. *smacks self* wake up!
