Yesterday wasn't that great. I was at work until eight at night, and wandered out into the night with the humiliating feeling that one of my classes of beautiful and vibrant little four and five year olds is going to eat me alive ( Read more... )

sounds like a few days, particularly fridays, I have known. And then the next day for some reason you can be fine. Not that any particular pressures have gone away, just that a good night's sleep, a fine day, and ordinary things (plus being the weekend helps heaps!) have somehow put it all in perspective.

I too had a good, lazy weekend with ziantha. And yet managed to get a few good things done, plus a family lunch, some nice meals, and time to read and sleep and enjoy winter sunlight and inside warmth.

This weekend gone I bought a book called A Path with Heart, by Jack Kornfield. You may have heard of it. About lots of things - meditation, philosophy etc, how you should lead your life. Those sorts of things. He is a buddhist of some renown, I have discovered. I also got his book on meditation for beginners, found by accident later that day. Synchronicity seems to be working its magic at the moment.

Of all things, I discovered these books by reading Charles de Lint's SF book SVAHA. It had a native american indian character who talked about the philosophy of 'walking a path with heart'. It sounded so 'real' ie not some made up rubbish (and I don't think CDL does make up that sort of thing...adapt maybe, not make up...) that I googled it. And found the term comes from Carlos Castaneda...and Jack Kornfield quotes the same material as part of his writings. Fascinating the path of discovery you can follow in these days of Google.

good luck dealing with the munchkins...8-)
