SNAP JUDGMENTS made of ignorance - along with the people who make them - deserve nothing more than our coldest disdain. The same can be said of judgments acquired by spite; if a man despises you for your obvius faults, he does not inherit them. Judgments made out of pity, the thought that just because a man is miserable he deserves our respect - ( Read more... )

You're completely right, Myndi - the only reason it might seem like we disagree is because of language. The last half of my journal entry agrees with what you just said completely.

What I said was that snap judgments based on ignorance, pity, or spite were wrong. Please pay attention to what I actually wrote, instead of what you think I wrote.

"If someone judged you on the fact that you drink/smoke/party...I wouldn't blame them considering that those ARE attributes of your personality. I don't mean you're a bad person, per se. But that it tells them if they want to be around you in the first place. Because those ARE actions. Maybe you don't agree- but actions do a big part in defining who you are."

This is EXACTLY what I said, Myndi. It's exactly what I said. I said "Please pay attention to this one," and obviously you didn't. But that's OK, seeing as you're sasying exactly what I said, only in the tone of chastisement.

Next time, Mynd - please read carefully. You KNOW I'm not one of those 'judging is wrong' people... Because judging is NECESSARY, judging is NOT wrong... this is what I said in most of the journal.

What I DID say was that snap judgments based on IGNORANCE, PITY, or SPITE were wrong. Please pay attention from now on.
