Rejectomancy

For no apparent reason the urge to tackle the slush pile hit critical mass, and as I start writing, I'm just about two hours in, it is now 1:45 am.

So far:
Not one has made it past five pages, most have gone supernova in the first paragraph.

I got a run of three submissions in a row that were all stuff i don't handle.

Characters who's only emotional gear is nuetral have been near the top of the heap for rejection reasons.

Egregious abuse of the written word has also dimmed the horizon more than its fair share.

Absent technical knowledge has been in play.

Starting with the setup and not the story has been seen more than a handful of times...

Four hours of slushing before collapse.

Two observations:

The odds that your novel needs a table of contents are startlingly low.

Multiple font changes are pointless.

pulpit pounding, evil agentry, slush
