Funny thingie from last night, and BIG NEWS!

First the funny thingie, because if I say it after the big news it'll be an anticlimax. (Much like having sex with some of my exes. :P)

So last night it got all stormy and I had to turn the comp off, and I decided to avoid the ensuing boredom by going downstairs to hang out. Well, my mom got home for her usual visiting the cat deal, and freaked. After bitching at me on the phone, she came down to try to get me to go upstairs because she was all paranoid about the cat being alone after being sick and crap. I could go on about how she babies that cat to a ridiculous extent, but I won't because it'll take half the fun out of this story. :P Anyway, she had to go back to work and wormed a promise out of me to come back up within the next half hour (which I'd intended to do anyway). And then she left. I bitched about her a bit, watched some weather forecasts on TV, and then headed upstairs.

And discovered she'd locked the door. I figured she'd be calling to make sure I was actually home, and here I'd be stuck outside. Luckily they have an extra key downstairs, so I just ran back down to get it. It's amazing how fast you can start giggling about a situation after having been pissed off about it. :P

And now the Big News, complete with way too many exclamation points!!!

So Jason's gonna become a manager at the place he works for, and it turns out there's another restaurant in the chain in Olathe. So things are all in place for him to get transferred after a while, though I don't imagine they'll want him to do it immediately after getting promoted. Given he's only been working there for a month or something, it shouldn't take all that long to find a replacement though. And they'll be paying for his move if they transfer him, so he can definitely get up here. :)

At any rate, now I get to find a newspaper and look at places for rent. Olathe's a bit of a commute but my uncle works up there and has no problem with it, so it shouldn't be that big a deal. The bigger deal will be if he has workdays as long as his ones now, which would suck. But I look at it like this...having him gone 12 hours a day sucks, but not as much as it sucks to not get to see him at all.

*goes off to bounce around and squee some more*
