...The Cosby Show wasn't on Nick at Nite? (Having something I watched when I was a kid on there is scary. I think I'll refuse to watch it on there until I'm 40 just on principle. :P)
...porn consisted of a 5 year old drawing a "naked" picture of Big Bird, including male and female body parts? (Ok, maybe "normal" kids didn't do that. I really wish I still had that drawing though.)
...you were that annoying kid fucking around while the adults were trying to talk about important shit? (This hit me strongly yesterday when my cousin visited and I met his gf and her kids for the first time. It's sure less annoying when you're the kid instead of the one being interrupted by them. Even if you did get yelled at more when you were 5.)
...you could be entertained by putting upside down laundry baskets on top of the other kids and pretending you were a witch or something? (I don't really remember the point of that game, but we all thought it was fun. Adulthood is so damn boring.)
...you couldn't stand the opposite sex? (A lot of us still do this, but sometimes I miss being able to say (with a straight face) that Johnny smells like cat poop.)
...11 year old girls played with Barbie dolls and watched cartoons instead of bragging about what boy they're "dating" this week? (This is one of my pet peeves. I'll hafta do a rant about it someday.)
...you actually got stuff you enjoyed for Christmas and birthdays? (I got way too many toys when I was a kid. Now all I get is interesting looking rocks and paperweights and Far Side books. I miss being able to play Hungry Hungry Hippos without feeling like a total moron.)
Well I was gonna try to do 10 of those but my brain gave out on me somewhere in the middle. Suffice it to say, I think too much. I'm not even 30 yet, why the hell am I getting all old fartish? I've actually done the "when I was your age..." bit with kids. Sometimes I even scare myself. :P
