Time for a random update! Who's excited?
I found out while I was being an obsessed little fangirl that Michaela Conlin (Angela from Bones) and I share a birthday. That random and trivial piece of information made me smile. Two more cool people I share a birthday with are Johnny Depp and Natalie Portman. The coolest person I share my birthday with is my twin sister.
I figured out the other day that the Red Cross need to find nicer people to run their blood donation van thingys. Because every person I've met working in one of them has been a deadset asshole, and it makes me kind of not want to give blood.
I was made aware that in my TAFE class, only two people have handed in all assessments on time, without extensions or anything, and I am one of those people. I don't understand why grown adults panic so hard about writing eight hundred words on conflict. I would have no problems writing eight thousand words on conflict.
MELBOURNE CUP!!!
Now, I'm not a gambling woman, but even your oldest strictest most conservative christian grandmother bets on the Melbourne Cup. So I sat down and my good ol' dad and I picked some horses. He was horrified that I bet on Japanese horses, calling me 'Un-Australian', but he was even more horrified when I picked up the QUINELLA!!!
Yep, that's right, I actually backed Delta Blues and Pop Rock to take first two. AND I WON A TIDY SOME OF MONEY, which is really the highlight of this little story. I made my dad cheer up by buying him a beer or two at the pub. And all these randoms were like, "Hey, this sheila backed the right horses," and I was like FUCK OFF YOU PERVERTS.
So *mwahahaha* I had a very successful Cup Day, thanks for asking.
Today I'm looking for a new job. I need more of the extreme cash flow, because there are many awesome products out there that I must buy for entertainment purposes. I'm also drinking coffee, because I like it a lot.
I got an email from a Random American that I met when I was in Cali in 2003. She's from Illinois, and we had lots of insane fun together. She was a walking encyclopedia of Daria quotes, can whistle the theme song to almost any television show, and once threw a small pizza at someone for daring to argue that Picard was better than Kirk.
Bull. Shit. Kirk was the MAN. By far the best Trek Captain ever.
On another star-related show: I like Ben Browder tonnes better on Farscape than on Stargate. Farscape was cooler, filmed in Australia, and had the extremely good-looking Gigi Edgely in it. As well as sometime guest star Tammy McIntosh who I've always kinda had a crush on.
Repeats of NCIS are screening again, which I love, because Kate is still alive. Sigh. And if they ever re-screen Kill Ari 1 & 2, I'll marry some Ch 10 executive because I missed them first time round, and I want to see CatholicSchoolgirl!Kate.
I am now finished being a perve. (Snicker. Yeah right.)
