as much as i hate being back in canada, i am pretty happy i got to watch wintersleep win a juno [for best new group of the year] live on tv tonight!!
they didn't win the one they were nominated for alongside arcade fire [who did win], but that award wasn't even televised. so awesome to see them win. they were so nervous up on stage. it was so cute. i'm so pleased! tim missed being up on stage cause he was in the loo. only a deon would manage to be taking a piss when they win a juno. i just realized i haven't seen the guys since this night in MAY when they were in glasgow mixing the album:
and i haven't seen them play since dublin in october 2006.
i'm sad i won't be able to congratulate them and welcome them back to glasgow next month, but the rest of scotland should probably go see them play with black mountain on may 14th at stereo.
oh and for those not from canada, the junos are the canadian equivalent to the grammys, just a lot less glitzy and way less pop oriented. i guess that's why it's the canadian equivalent.
